Oh no, my child has Grandma Syndrome! Every time we try to take a picture of Josh's mom, she blinks. I wanted to get a simple picture of Ashlyn since she is now seven months old, but every time I snapped a photo, she closed her eyes. So, happy seven months!!!
We haven't taken many pictures of just the men in the family over the years because the picture-taking usually revolves around the kids. So here they are. Notice that Cody is wearing a princess bracelet just for kicks.
We celebrated Kate's and Carter's birthdays at Grandma Smith's house the other day. Sadie fell asleep while we were there and no matter how hard we tried to wake her for a picture, she just wouldn't wake up. She was out cold. So this is the picture we got.
A few days ago Kali asked me why we don't have any Halloween decorations on the outside of our house other than pumpkins. I told her that I'm not a big fan of decorating my house with creepy things. She then told me that she wished she could put her foam Halloween stickers on the outside of the house because they weren't gross. It sounded logical, but I just couldn't give in. Then I had a brilliant idea. I told her she could decorate her play house in the backyard with her stickers. She thought it was a great compromise and couldn't wait to show all her friends.
Every year we go to Gardner Village to see the witches with Sara and her boys. This year we decided to go on a nice warm day before it got too close to Halloween. But when we got there, we realized that everyone else must have had the same idea. It was UEA weekend and the place was packed. Despite the craziness of it all, the girls had a blast and can't stop talking about the witch they saw on a potty in the outhouse with a sign that said "Witchy Poo".
Sadie finished up her soccer season. She was so excited to get a trophy like her big sister's, but I think she decided hers is even better because it glows when you spin it. She wouldn't even stop spinning it for the picture.
BYU hasn't been doing so hot this year so we decided to use a good luck charm to help them out. We dressed her up and rubbed her head and BYU won!!! This might become a new tradition.
Sadie got to go to the fire station for a preschool field trip. It was cut a bit short though, because they got called out to a fire. She didn't seem to be afraid of them at all.
For conference I decided to try the suggestion from the Friend and have my girls make mobiles based on what they heard the speakers talk about. It was really good at keeping their attention but proved to be a distraction for me because I was constantly having to tie, glue or hole punch something. They did turn out very cute in the end and one of Kali's papers said "BE ONISD". At first I had no idea what it was supposed to mean. Then I had to laugh when I realized she was trying to write "Be Honest".
